Course Description: The
bicycle time trial is an out and back race starting at Clarksville, MO on Hwy. 79 with a turnaround south of Louisiana, MO at the intersection of Hwy. 79 and Hwy. D. Hwy. 79 has an existing bike lane on both sides of the highway. The route is adjacent to the Mississippi River and provides a very scenic route for the bicyclists. Course is a total of 19 miles with an elevation gain of 600 feet with one significant hill climb approximately 5 miles North of Clarksville. Highway will be open to traffic with MODOT electronic signs on the course warning vehicles of the presence of bicyclists. Race marshals will be stationed along the course and at the turnaround location to ensure the safety of the bicyclists.Directions: From St. Louis take I-70 West to Hwy. 79 in St. Peters. Travel North on Hwy. 79 for 44 miles to Clarksville, MO. Once in Clarksville turn right on Howard St. and then right on N. 1st St. Parking is on along N. 1st St. Please be courteous and park in established parking spots. Bicycle staging area will be located between Main St. and Virginia St. on S. 1st St. Big Shark Bicycle Company will support the race with a mechanic tent and other logistical support.
Race Information: This race is a USA Cycling sanctioned race and all registrants will be covered by their standard racing insurance policies - POLICY DETAILS. All racers should follow USA Cycling rules of conduct which can be found at the following link - RULES OF CONDUCT. Racers will be issued a race number to be affixed on the bicycle and helmet necessary to obtain an official race time. Helmets will be required for this race.
Registration: Pre-registration is highly encouraged through Active.com. On-site registration and race packet pickup will be available from 8:30am-9:30am. Racer packets must be picked up between these times at the registration tent at the Clarksville riverfront.
Race Results: Race results will be posted on Active.com. Awards presentation for both the Bicycle Time Trial and Kayak Race will be on the Clarksville riverfront following the conclusion of the Kayak Race before the Landing Party. Prize winners not present at the awards presentation will be contacted to arrange for pickup or delivery.
